Bus Kills Messenger Boy

Newark, NJ, Aug. 15 – Valentine Hasenauer, 17-year-old Western Union
messenger boy, returning on a bicycle from delivering a telegram in
Irvington, was killed today in front of Newark City Hall at Broad and
Green Streets, by a bus.
The boy was within two blocks of the Western Union office at 832 Broad
Street. The driver of the bus, Joseph Marczak, said he swerved to
avoid the collision but the boy lost control of his bicycle.
Hasenauer lived at 93 Niagara Street, Newark.
