Just wanted to know about any unfortunate situations you have come acrosswhilst cycling about.,
I had the misfortune of a car door opening on me on Charlotte Streetfor the last time! No more Mr Mice Guy! I got up slowly after being coiledaround the bike and pretended to look pathetic. Lots of people came tohelp and act as witnesses if needed. The bloke in the car got out a bitnervous and jumpy and offered to pay damages to the bike, sod the factthat I may be hurt and had a hurt arm and was shaken up at the thoughtof near death.
After taking the registration number and various details I went to abike shop I visit sometimes, who kindly wrote up a receipt for me. Withno damages to the bike I rang the gent, who worked at a large advertisingagency we know and love and produced the receipt that day and collecteda cheque for £50 my compensation for the day.
I thought brill, my ship's come in! All in an honest day’s work.
