Pretty tenuous when you think about it, really. CCs get up early, goto bed early, and have clean, healthy life-styles. Musicians get up late,go to bed late and have lots of sex 'n' drugs. Yet heaps of CCs play inrock 'n' roll bands. We examine this contradicting connection with PhilBell, guitarist with the underground monsters of funk, The Hotheads, andex-cc with Relay (Flanagan ROAD) for a year.
When you was a cc, didn’t the two lifestyles interfere?

Banging it against things? Um .. in terms of playing music. the concentration,'cause there were a million other things in your head like staying alive.
Did you play much whilst you was a cc?
Nah ya know it, init. Had to, uh, pay off the debts, pay some money...
Was that the only reason you was a cc, money?
The path of fate had taken me onto two wheels.

Live fast, get high... damn cliches.... they are both alternative lifestyles?I mean, how many ways can an itinerant dosser make large sums of moneyin a short space of time?
Well, there we have it, and pretty conclusively, too: most musiciansare socially useless parasites who put honest, hard-working cyclists outof jobs.
